The Rôle of Phosphate in Biological Oxidations
نویسندگان
چکیده
1. The effect of phosphate on the oxidation of glyceric aldehyde by methylene blue, 1-naphthol 2-sulfonate indophenol, and phenol-indophenol has been studied. 2. At pH 4.77 in a phthalate-buffered medium phosphate does not catalyze the reaction. 3. At pH 7.9 in solutions buffered with borate, carbonate, or phenylalanine marked catalysis by phosphate is observed. The effect is most pronounced in borate. 4. Phosphate catalysis, within the limits studied, is strictly a linear function of the phosphate concentration. 5. The high concentration of HPO(4) (=) and the low concentration of PO(4) ( identical with) relative to that of the substrate virtually demand the conclusion that the PO(4) ( identical with) ion is the active catalytic species.

Biological Removal of phosphate from Synthetic Wastewater Using Bacterial Consortium
The biological phosphorus removal is a microbial process widely used for removing phosphorus fromwastewater to avoid eutrophication of water bodies. The study was aimed to screen the efficient phosphatereducing isolates and used to remove phosphate from synthetic wastewater using batch scale process. Thethree most efficient phosphate reducers were isolated and screened from eu...
متن کاملEffect of Graphene Oxide Nanoparticles Addition on Mechanical and Biological Properties of Calcium Phosphate Cement
In the present study, we have evaluated the effects of graphene oxide (GO) addition on the physical-mechanical-biological properties of calcium phosphate cement (CPC). The in vitro cellular responses of MG63 and in vivo tissue responses after the implantation of CPC/GO in parietal bone defects of wistar rats were also investigated. The brushite calcium phosphate cements were prepared by mixi...

To investigate the effects of chemical, organic and biological fertilizers application on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of seedless barberry (Berberis vulgaris cv. Asperma) an experiment was conducted as split plot randomized complete block design with three replications in commercial garden in Qaen during 2016. Main-treatments comprised four application type of fertilizer (1...
متن کاملHorseradish peroxidase catalyzed and electrochemical oxidations of 2-thiouracil-A comparison
Horseradish peroxidase (type VIII) catalyzed and electrochemical oxidations of 2-thiouracil have been studied in phosphate buffer of pH 7.20 (JL==l.O M) at an ambient temperature of 25±2°C. The peroxidase catalyzed oxidation has been initiated by using hydrogen peroxide and electrooxidation carried out at pyrolytic graphite electrode. The UV-absorbing intermediates generated in both the oxidati...
متن کاملThe Conversion of Inorganic Phosphorus Fractions, Phosphatase Activity, and Some Biological Properties in Sandy Soil Enriched with Minerals, Organic Matter, and Microbial Modifiers under Two Months of Incubation
This study investigated the effect of the inoculation of the soil with some phosphorus solubilizing microorganisms (PSM) on inorganic P fractions in sandy soil enriched with inorganic and organic amendments. A factorial experiment arrangement was performed in a completely randomized design with three replications, using two factors: microorganisms (control, Entrobacter cloacae, Brevundimonas, a...
